What the role is for
HFN is delivering a hotel on Victoria Island with an international operator, to that operator’s brand standards. Interior design authority sits with a designer based in South Africa, working under a fixed response time. This role owns the flow of design information to her and back. What reaches her is complete, checked and in priority order, and nothing sits unanswered without someone knowing.

What you would do
Own the interior drawing and specification register. One controlled current revision of every document, with superseded issues withdrawn from circulation.
Run the interior submission pipeline. Log every shop drawing, sample, request for information and substitution, track each against the agreed response time, and escalate before it breaches.
Check every contractor submission before it reaches the designer. Incomplete submissions are rejected at source rather than paid for in designer hours.
Administer the substitution register. Technical data, samples, and the brand standard check.
Coordinate the interior design against the architect of record, structural, mechanical and electrical, and the lighting designer. Clashes are raised as written interface queries.
Assemble gate evidence packs to the specified photographic and measurement protocol, and load them into Notion.
Maintain the design authority gap and variance records, and prepare operator submission material for issue by HFN.

What we are looking for
A degree in architecture or interior architecture. NIA or ARCON registration, or working towards it, is an advantage.
At least four years post-qualification on construction stage delivery. Hospitality, high end residential or branded fit-out preferred.
Fluent reading and checking of interior shop drawings, elevations, setting out and finishes schedules. AutoCAD is essential. Revit is an advantage.
Comfortable in a structured document control environment. Notion and monday.com experience is an advantage. The aptitude is not optional.
Organised and persistent, and willing to chase senior people for answers.

The hard parts
No design authority and no approval authority. You prepare and administer. You do not decide.
No instruction to contractors, and no procurement or commercial authority.
The role succeeds on follow through, not on design flair. If what you want is to be the designer, this is the wrong seat.
The design authority sits in another country under a response clock. Protecting that clock means telling contractors their submission is not good enough, repeatedly.
